My go-to camera for the past five years or so has been the iPhone in my front right jeans pocket. It has seen is fair share of upgrades and at present does not match some of the really higher resolution smartphones out there.
All that is about to change next month as Apple unveils the iPhone 6S with a new and improved 12MB back camera. My only problem is if it’ll leave my Moondog Labs Anamorphic Lens Adapter for iPhone 6 (which I haven’t even received for the FedEx yet).
Well, I guess the Moondog Labs Anamorphic Lens Adapter will come in an upgrades iPhone 6S version (as I rejected getting the iPro Lens Kit from Schneider Optics as the case is wound so tightly around the iPhone 6 that it’s a pain in the ass to get on and especially off the damn iPhone. Also, I don’t think the case by Element Case will work with my Lanparte 3 Axis gimbal).
A person “within Apple’s supply chain†told Business Insider Malaysia that a new five-element lens is being produced, designed to work with a 12 megapixel sensor upgraded from the 8 megapixel sensor found in current iPhone 6 handsets. The unnamed person went on to reveal that a more complex six-element lens has also been ordered for a future undisclosed iPhone.
Why add a lens element?
Each element in a lens enables further refinement of the image, including the correction of unwanted distortions which can result in the bending of straight lines, as well as the removal of any coloured fringes which can often appear at the edges of an uncorrected photo.
